Structure - Activity Relationships of Jasmonates in Proteinase Inhibitor Genes of Potato the Induction of Expression of Two

چکیده
Expression of genes coding for wound-inducible cathepsin D inhibitor (CDI) and proteinase inhibitor II (PI-II) of petato were induced in leaves upon treatment with methy} jasmonate (MJA) with similar time and concentrat;on dependences. The response of CDI and PI-Il genes to yarious compounds structural]y related to MJA w'ere a}so simi]ar to each other. For the induction of expression of these proteinase inhibitor genes, an acetyl side chain, whether or not it is meth.vlated, at the C-1 position, an n-pentenyl side chain at the C-2 position, and a keto group at the C-3 position of the cyclopentane ring ofJA were all important for its activity. These structural requirements of MJA-related compeunds for the induction of proteinase inhibitor genes seemed to be different frem those for the induction of potato tuber formation, the promotion of leaf senescence, and the inhibition f seedling growth.

متن کاملTransformation of Potato (Solanum tuberosumcv.Savalan) by Chitinase and β-1,3-Glucanase Genes of Myco-Parasitic Fungi Towards Improving Resistance to Rhizoctonia solani AG-3
Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) an agro-economically important food crop in the world, is sensitive to many fungal pathogens including Rhizoctonia solani (AG-3), the causal agent of stem and root rot diseases. Chitinase and glucanase are cell wall degrading enzymes which have been shown to have high antifungal activity against a wide range of phytopathogenic fungi. In the present study, plasmid p...
متن کاملA wound-inducible potato proteinase inhibitor gene expressed in non-tuber-bearing species is not sucrose inducible.
Sequences homologous to a potato cathepsin D inhibitor cDNA, p749, were identified in the genomic DNA of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) and of two non-tuber-bearing potato species (Solanum etuberosum and S. brevidens) by means of Southern blot analysis. The expression of these p749 genes in leaves was induced at the RNA level in response to wounding. High levels of p749 transcripts were detec...
متن کاملEffects of 5-aza-2ˈ-deoxycytidine and Valproic Acid on Epigenetic-modifying DNMT1 Gene Expression, Apoptosis Induction and Cell Viability in Hepatocellular Carcinoma WCH-17 cell line
Background: DNA molecule of the eukaryotic cells is found in the form of a nucleoprotein complex named chromatin. Two epigenetic modifications are critical for transcriptional control of genes, including acetylation and DNA methylation. Hypermethylation of tumor suppressor genes is catalyzed by various DNA methyltransferase enzymes (DNMTs), including DNMT1, DNMT2, and DNMT3. The most well chara...

Background & Aims: Cancer is a genetic disease that results from mutations in genes that control cell activities. Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancers in men. Surgery, radiation therapy, hormone therapy, and chemotherapy are used to treat this disease. These treatments have numerous side effects after treatment, including impotence along with the high cost of treatment. In...
